2008 School Readiness Scholarship:
In an effort to prepare our children to start the school year on a positive note with all the items they will need to be successful, our family has established the Wylie Funeral Homes School Readiness Scholarship. This award will be awarded annually, and was open this year to middle school students. Because Wylie Funeral Homes believes that all of our children are special, applicants for this years scholarship were asked to write an essay on what qualities they had that made them special. We received an overwhelming response from the children of our local church community! We would like to thank all the children who participated, their parents, and their churches! Our grand prize winners were:
Brianna Lassiter, Empowerment Temple
Danielle Veney, Greater Harvest Baptist Church
Matthew McQuay, Morning Star Baptist Church
Nya Rodgers, Perkins Square Baptist Church
Congratulations! |
